Ah, it’s no good us complaining. We handballed a goal on Friday. We were the better side on Friday and City were the better side here. It’s good that we kept them to a goal.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread
So thanks for explaining that I did not say it was a cast iron penalty.

Like I said Anderson was caught out. As for the laws I know them well enough and if VAR had been used the likelyhood is that the ref would have not awarded a penalty.

You in both your guises will have to get over the fact that we lost instead of us nicking a point.

And look in the paper tomorrow and note that Man City scored via a penalty.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread
comma seems you still don't get it Anderson didn't do anything to warrant a foul, didn't attempt to tackle or take the ball, just shadowed him into the box, I've even explained this to you and told you to look up the laws of the game it will make it clear and obvious for you, Silva saw the oncoming players, slowed his pace and threw out a leg to make contact if anything he impeded Felipe

As for the cast iron ramblings you posted this earlier

"I'm pointing out that the likes of Anderson and Arnie acted with ineptitude defending in their own penalty box. If you look at the incident tonight Anderson had no need to attempt the tackle"

Go to bed with a glass of hot milk as I'm concerned you're going to explode with rage any minute

Bit early to pass judgement on the little wizard. Give him till April at least

Lily.

For a spell today, Lanzini reminded me of Scott Parker - both technical players who were never about pace really.

Tonight the ref cost us a point but against Liverpool recently the officials cost us two points.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Is it just rust, or has Lanzini lost a yard of pace? He should get sharper with game time, but I feel he used to move forward with the ball much more quickly before.

If he's lost some pace, he'll have to reinvent his game, like Devonshire had to. Like Devo, Lanzini is a clever player, so I reckon he will get there.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread
I am as calm as I normally am. The fact is that we conceded a penalty and it is on record. It can be argued that it was not justified but it was given and the action of Anderson provided the opportunity for the ref to award it.

I have not expressed a contrary view I have simply said that it was adjudged by the ref as a penalty and Aguerro dispatched it for the winning goal. The real point to me though is that these incidents of attackers gulling officials are more likely to happen when people like Arnie and Anderson get involved in their own penalty boxes.

You'll have to point out where I said it was a cast iron penalty or withdraw your lie.

Robbery. Pure and simple.

I took a lot of positives from tonight. Three of our academy players on the pitch all who played well, Fredericks thunderous tackle which was Dicks like in efficiency and delivery, admirable team performance, more minutes for Lanzini and confirmation of my belief that VAR can't come in quick enough.

Oh..and hats off to the mob that went up there.
Superb turn out, as usual.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread
comma calm down darling and good to see you're now changing your contrary view by edging towards calling it "soft"

Fact is it WASN'T a penalty, even Pellegrini agrees, as Silva cheated the clueless ref by slowing his pace down and then making an unnatural move towards Anderson ensuring contact.

Only you saw it as a cast iron penalty and have been made to look foolish by saying so, go to bed son

We need a decent left back...

Creswell is OK but Arthur looks like one of those players who is untrainable...he wouldn't be the first or last

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Yeh, the defence done well really.
And Johnson wasn’t fazed on his debut which was good to see.
Just zilch up front. Had a few openings late 2nd half but wasted em.
Still, on to the magpies for 3 points saturday.

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread
nickwet, don't try and patronise people just because I have a view that does not concur with yours. The fact is we conceded a soft penalty and it's one that a defender might have avoided but the likes of Arnie and Anderson can be gulled into. You'll have to do your best to get over it.

As it is you seem to be totally unaware of how players get into the penalty box and do their best to "earn" penalties off a ref. That is exactly what happened this evening. Clearly you need to replace your subjective view of games with an objective one.

If that's true then right back is a low priority area to invest in.

Good game and decent performance. Couldn’t see the pen incident but gutted to hear we were robbed

Great support, we had 3 tiers on a school night my citeh mate said away fans normally fill 2 on a Saturday

Re: ⚽ Man City v West Ham - Official Match Thread
Johnson did well...pretty sure he is a right back who was filling in on the left side...

If so, looks like Fredericks and him might have a chance of covering the right back slot covered for next season

comma seriously sweetheart stick to the EU thread, football's not for you, look up the laws of the game and regale us all with how any foul is committed outlined in the laws of the game using careless, reckless or use of excessive force by Anderson

Often happens when a club has had a billion quid spent on it and probably has 15 players that cost more than our most expensive player.
And brings their own ref
